In a significant step toward strengthening grassroots governance, the Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has officially sworn-in Hon. Fagbesan Muhammed Akeem as the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), alongside Supervisors and Special Advisers to serve in the council’s executive team.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new executive council members took place on Friday, at the Imota Local Council Secretariat, shortly after the successful screening and confirmation of the nominees by the 6th Legislative House of Imota LCDA.
In his address, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, commended the legislative arm of the council for its diligence, cooperation and commitment to democratic processes, noting that the exercise reflected a strong partnership between the executive and legislative arms of government.
“The screening and swearing-in of these capable men and women mark a new chapter in our drive to deliver dividends of democracy at the grassroots”.
He further reiterated that within the framework of Local Government administration in Lagos State, Supervisors and Special Advisers play a vital roles in supporting the Executive Chairman in policy implementation, governance, and service delivery across various sectors of the council.
The newly appointed officials took their oaths of office and allegiance, pledging to uphold the constitution, serve the people people with integrity, and contribute meaningfully to the development and progress of Imota Local Council Development Area.
The newly appointed Executive Members include:
▪️Hon. (Princess) Abisoye Omowunmi Jimoh: Vice-Chairman and Supervisor for Health.
▪️ Hon. Fagbesan Muhammed Akeem: Secretary to the Local Government (SLG).
▪️Prince Babatunde Oredoyin: Supervisor for Agriculture, Rural and Social Services.
▪️Hon. Sanni Muftaudeen Adetoro: Supervisor for Works, Infrastructure and Housing.
▪️Hon. Olufemi Falade: Supervisor for Revenue, Budget and Planning Logistics.
▪️Hon. Sule Adesina Okedeyi: Supervisor for Special Duty.
▪️Hon. (Dr.) Adebogun Babatunde Olayinka: Supervisor for Education and Library Service.
▪️Hon. Akinyemi Olusoga Victor: Supervisor for Youth and Sports.
▪️Hon. Abosede Idowu Yekini: Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
▪️Hon. Sodiq Hammed Sanni : Supervisor for Waste Management and Environmental Services.
▪️Hon. Ayodele Gabriel Abass: Special Adviser on Information and Communication Technology.
▪️Hon. Felicia Igwe: Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture.
▪️Hon. Odumosu Rafiu Abiodun Ashaka: Special Adviser on Agriculture, Rural and Social Services.
▪️Hon. Morayo Solarin Akinyemi: Special Adviser on Education and Library Service.
▪️Hon. Adedotun Ademola Egberongbe: Special Adviser on Legislative Matter.
▪️Hon. Shofowora Olumide Adeleke: Special Adviser on Youth & Sports.
▪️Hon. Biliamin Iyanda: Special Adviser on Works, Infrastructure and Housing.
The newly sworn-in officials are expected to assume their duties immediately and work closely with the Executive Chairman in advancing his administration’s vision of building a more prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Imota LCDA.
